The Harpenden Mencap Charity Golf Day combines great golf, fantastic food and meaningful impact! Whether you're an enthusiastic beginner or seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to take part and make a difference. Enjoy friendly competition, followed by a delicious two-course dinner of steak and ale pie with pudding or cheese. Vegetarian option available.

Harpenden Mencap's Charity Golf Day is a volunteer-led event. Huge thanks to our fundraising group for your tireless dedication, and for keeping everything on course from the first tee to the final putt.

Day Schedule

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Harpenden Mencap’s 14th Annual Charity Golf Day!

  • 12 midday: team registration, and opportunity to buy raffle tickets.
  • 2pm: shotgun start and the competition begins.
  • 6pm: competition ends and players return to the clubhouse. Silent auction begins!
  • 7pm: speech from Harpenden Mencap's CEO Angela Duce and dinner.
  • 9.30pm: prize-giving, raffle winners drawn and silent auction ends.
Raffle tickets will be available to purchase using cash or card. They are £5 for a strip of five ticckets. Local businesses have generously donated more than 40 prizes from fresh cakes to tickets to local attractions, art, flowers, and more.

Please give generously! Every penny raised will go towards Harpenden Mencap's vital work supporting local adults with learning disabilities.

Information for players

Please note we will be using the Stableford Full Handicap scoring system and playing ready golf.

There will be two competitions: a team game and a singles competition, plus two extra challenges:
  • Team game: for all four players in your team. The best three scores on every hole count, except for the par 3s where all four players' scores count.
  • Singles competition: with prizes for the best individual scores for both female and male players.
  • 18th hole challenge: land on the green in one shot and you will be entered into a draw for a super prize! £5 entry fee.
  • Nearest the pin on all par 3s: nearest the pin in two on the 7th hole, and longest drive on the 9th hole. No entry fee.
We can't wait to see you for what promises to be a brilliant day of golf, fundraising and fun.
