About Learning Disability Week
Date: 15th - 21st June 2026
Location: Across Harpenden (AL5) and open to all
Learning Disability Week is an opportunity to celebrate the talents, achievements and contributions of people with learning disabilities, while raising awareness of the importance of inclusion, accessibility and equal opportunities for everyone. Throughout the week, Harpenden Mencap will be hosting events that highlight and bring together the amazing people at the heart of our community.
Allotment Club Open Day
Date and time: Monday 15th June from 12pm - 3pmLocation: South Harpenden Allotments, behind the Co-op, Southdown, AL5 1PS
Explore the allotment, enjoy the welcoming space and meet our friendly Allotment Club members. Cake will be available. We look forward to showing you what we've been growing this year!
Picnic in the Park
Date and time: Thursday 18th June from 6pm - 8pmLocation: Meet at the Eric Morecambe Centre, Rothamsted Park, AL5 2FR
Everyone is welcome to join us for a fun-filled evening outing with games, laughter, and great company for everyone to enjoy. Bring your own picnic and make memories together.
Disco Night
Date and time: Friday 19th June from 7pm - 10pmLocation: Renwick Hall, 90 Southdown Road, AL5 1PU
Tickets: £5 per person - book now to avoid disappointment. If you're bringing a support person, their ticket is free
Bring your best moves to Harpenden Mencap's first Disco Night! The doors open at 7pm and dancing starts at 7.30pm. We'll have lots of great tunes and refreshments will be available. The disco ends at 9.30pm and doors close at 10pm.
